Los Angeles-based Sexy Beast, a Planned Parenthood platform for hosting fund-raiser artist collaborations, has reunited Off-White designer Virgil Abloh and artist Jenny Holzer to created a limited edition run of 1,000 each of three t-shirts as part of a fundraising effort.
Two of the t-shirts are printed with two of Jenny Holzer’s better know “truisms. One reads “abuse of power comes as no surprise” and a second reads “abuse of flower comes as no surprise.”
From what we can see, the same truism is printed on the sleeve. As well, based on images, it looks like one of the truisms is printed using a blurry font.
While they worked together prior via electronic communication, Abloh and Holzer first met face-to-face at Off-White’s Pitti Uomo June 2016 men’s presentation in Florence, which featured a t-shirt with the Holzer truism “I’ll never forgive the ocean.” As well, the venue included a giant slide projection featuring Holzer’s art.
Dropping on December 4, 2017, each t-shirt is a $100 donation to Planned Parenthood. Visit sexybeast.com for more info.
