London-based designer Astrid Anderson has revealed a collaboration with Finnish furrier Saga on a bespoke capsule that includes six silhouettes. The collection was revealed at an event at the Mandrake Hotel in London following Anderson’s menswear presentation, which saw the debut of a new Nike Air Max 270 colorway.
On the future of fur, Anderson thinks it’s here to stay. “I think fur is actually going to become more relevant because it is one of the things that is actually so sustainable. When you really look into the process of the fur, there is zero waste.” Andersen told WWD at the event.
Anderson noted that she chose to work with Saga because all of its furs come with a bar code, which can be scanned to trace the origin of the piece.
Swedish actress Noomi Rapace was tapped as the face of the campaign. With the men’s collections behind her, Anderson is gearing up for her women’s runway collection showing in Copenhagen in February.
