Busy night. The U.S. government shut down and Drake released two new singles, “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.” The singles were packaged as an EP titled “Scary Hours,” his first new music since June 2017.
On “Diplomatic Immunity,” Drake references Jennifer Lopez with the line, “2010 was when I lost my halo; 2017 I lost a J.Lo.”
Drake also took some time to come for Joe Budden with lines making reference to music critics: “I’ve seen budding careers turn to sit around and talk about other careers, judging their peers. Knowledge from niggas who did not contribute to none of this here.”
