Following the re-release of its Stadium collection in September 2017, Polo is bringing back the Snow Beach collection, a navy, red and yellow snowboard capsule that was first released 25 years ago in fall 1993. The collection will include reproduced silhouettes as well as items inspired by the original collection.
The 10-piece collection is highlighted by the Snow Beach pullover, a highly-coveted vintage item because it was worn by Wu Tang Clan rapper Raekwon in the 1993 single “Can It All Be So Simple.” Offerings also include a Snow Beach vest, fanny pack, sneakers and bucket hat.
In addition to the color collection, there will be an eight-piece black and white capsule that includes a nylon poncho and a patch-covered rugby top.
Reflecting an embrace of New York’s fame Lo-Heads, who famously collected Polo’s ’90s-era offerings, the campaign was shot by New Zealand photographer Tom Gould who partnered with Lo-Head leader Thirsten Howl 3rd on “Bury Me with the Lo On,” a book celebrating Lo-Life culture.
Pricing is as follows: pullover: $395; poncho: $395; rugby shirt: $265; vest: $265 and bucket hat: $69.50.
Look for the Snow Beach color capsule to drop at Ralph Lauren’s Prince Street store and ralphlauren.com as well as Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles and New York on January 25, 2018. The black and white assortment will launch on February 1, 2018.
