New York rapper Princess Nokia aka Destiny Frasqueri aka this week debuted a new show on Apple’s Beats 1 Radio titled ‘The Voices in My Head.”
Discussing the format for the show on Instagram, Nokia wrote, “I am so excited to share this amazing new six episode season with you. In my new show I discuss all my different favorite music through a comedic and nostalgic narrative lens in radio format. It’s very funny and very awesome. Tune in to hear me talk about losing my virginity to System of a Down why don’t you.”
In an interview with Beats 1 Radio host Ebro Darden, she expanded on her affinity for female musicians, the need for more female voices in radio. She also announced plans for an upcoming mixtape titled “A Girl Called Red,” a project produced by Tony Seltzer.
“The Voices in my Head” radio show premiered this Sunday February 18th and will air every other Sunday.
