Capitalizing on the dad shoe trend, soccer performance and lifestyle brand Umbro has found a big hit with its Bumpy silhouette, a shoe that could be kissing cousins with Balenciaga’s wildly popular Triple S sneaker.
Offered in three colorways and launched on March 16, 2018 in Korea (aka ground zero for the dad shoe trend), the shoe quickly sold out upon arrival.
For now the shoe is only available on Umbro’s Korean site, whether or not it will make it to the United States or Europe isn’t clear. Umbro is owned by the U.S.-based Iconix and it operates as a licensee in Korea and several other countries. As such, the brand doesn’t have a singular global merchandise strategy.
However, if the Bumpy does manage to make it stateside, it will probably be sold at Asos and Urban Outfitters, both of which stock the brand’s clothing.
