We’re happy to report fashion icon André Leon Talley finally is receiving the documentary treatment he very much deserves. As Talley aptly states, “You can be aristocratic without having been born into an aristocratic family.”
Titled The Gospel According to André, the Kate Novack-directed film covers Talley’s upbringing in North Caroline, obtaining a masters at Brown University and beginning his career at Andy Warhol’s Factory in the ’70s. Of course the documentary also cover his time as an editor at Women’s Wear Daily, W and Vogue magazine where he began as a fashion news director in 1983.
The trailer includes feedback from Fran Lebowitz, Anna Wintour, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Whoopi Goldberg among others, all of whom laud him for his impact on fashion.
