As brands and retailers go, Nike and Nordstrom have a very tight partnership, a mutually beneficial relationship epitomized by the recent launch of an exclusive apparel collection designed by designer Sami Miró.
Writing about the effort on Instagram, Miró wrote, “I can’t even begin to describe how honored and overjoyed I am to announce my capsule collection with Nike and Nordstrom! We have been working all day and night on this collection and it was such an incredible experience designing and bringing it all to life.”
The effort was part of Nike and Nordstrom’s NxN initiative, a series of exclusive offerings overseen by Olivia Kim, the chain’s vice president of creative projects.
Miró’s edit included a high-waist, zip-up legging, a cropped coach’s jacket and a one-shoulder sports bra, a capsule sold exclusively at an “NxN” event held at Nordstrom Local on Melrose in Los Angeles, a new retail concept where customers can’t buy merchandise, but they can meet with a stylist, have clothing tailored, get a manicure and sit at the coffee bar.
In addition to the custom collection, the festivities included a performance by twin reggae singers Nick & Navi with additional music provided by DJ Francesca Harding.
