Tokyo-based X-Girl taps into its own ’90s-era roots with a collection honoring Chloë Sevigny, who’s part of the original crew that supported the label in its early days as the ultimate Downtown New York cool girl label.
Sevigny wasn’t only chummy with founders Kim Gordon and Daisy von Furth (who sold the label in 1998 to B’s International), she walked X-Girl’s debut fashion show and was tapped to star in in a 1995 campaign visual.
In addition to campaign images of Sevigny, X-Girl created a collection that pays homage through a photoscreen image of the New York-based actress pulled from an archival 1994 Vice magazine shoot, one that remained unpublished until it was brought to light for the magazine’s 15th anniversary issue in 2009.
Items include a ringer t-shirt plus an all-over-print t-shirt, button down and mini-skirt.
X-Girl is based in Tokyo, but the collection along with other items is available to purchase through worldshopping.com. The price of the ringer t-shirt with shipping is about $100.
