Converse and MadeMe drop their collaborative collection of One Star platform sneakers, offered in corduroy in garden green and vibrand yellow and in suede in black and medieval blue.
New York-based designer Erin Magee says the shoes are a tribute to the City’s famed cub kids, who were known not just for their platform sneakers but also for their rebellious approach to life and fashion. Describing who she had in mind when she designed the shoe, Magee explained in press, “A cool girl, independent, who will take risks and not worry about what everyone else is wearing or doing. It’s a girl who is attracted to authenticity and wants to explore street, rave, queer, and ’90s subculture.”
