UK-Based singer Jessie J releases the video for “Queen,” a song advocating for loving all aspects of one’s body with the chorus: “I love my body, I love my skin, I am a goddess, I am a queen.”
The visual is directed by Marc Klasfeld and is all about true representation, showing women of different shapes, races, religions and ages, along with women with physical disabilities.
Commenting on the song on Twitter, Jessie wrote, “This video is to celebrate ALL WOMEN! Women of all race, shape and size. I love being a woman. I love uplifting women. I love the power and beauty all women have. In a time where the world creates trends within beauty and tells us the ever changing definition of “perfect.”
The single will be included on a four-part album called R.O.S.E., an acronym for the projects four subsections: “Realizations,” “Obsessions,” “Sex” and “Empowerment.” “Realization” will drop on May 22, 2018, “Obsession” on May 23rd, “Sex” on May 24th and “Empowerment” on May 25th.
