“Master of None” Emmy-award-winning screenwriter and actress Lena Waithe linked with Complex’s Joe La Puma for a sneaker shopping episode taking place at Stadium Goods.
The Chicago-born Waithe, who views herself as a serious sneaker collector, discussed her appreciation for all things Jordan brand and at the same time gave props to Kanye West for creating shoes combining comfort and great design.
Waithe also weighed in the phenomenon of women’s sneakers, which she says she never wears. “I don’t like women’s sneakers, explained Waithe. “I think for me I don’t always like the way their made. I think they skimp on some of the design and also I think a lot of shoes that make for women are something out of 1953 with the pinks and the purples and the pastels. Women want to be just as fly as the dudes. I hear that complaint a lot from women.”
Waithe settled on two pairs of shoes, a $3,000 pair of Nike Air Yeezy 2 NRG and Adidas Originals NMD R1 x Neighborhood sneakers, priced at $350.
