SZA has released a video for Ctrl single “Garden (Say It Like Dat)” a visual that includes Donald Glover playing the role of her love interest plus a cameo from her mother, Audrey Rowe.
In a preview of the video she posted on Instagram on Mother’s Day, SZA wrote, “Mommy u mean more than energy provides. My Ace. My apex. My co designer…”
The video is directed by Kerena Evans, who is fresh off of Drake’s “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What” visuals. Reflecting the song’s title, the video was shot in April in Maui, using SZA’s favorite kind of backdrop, one that is lush and full of greenery.
SZA was styled by Dianne Garcia, who took a Bohemian approach for her five outfits, starting with a white, lace-up maillot, a pink lace-tiered sleeveless top, a white sleeveless peasant dress, a black sparkle bodysuit and a red sequin bodysuit.
