Singers/songwriters Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani join voices and forces in video for “What I need,” a woman-power visual directed by Kiyoko.
The cinematic video opens with Kehlani packing up to leave while verbally sparring with her aunt, who isn’t comfortable with how close she is with her friend, Kiyoko.
The video then transition into an aimless road trip adventure, during which their close friendship transitions into an intimate relationship.
The story line is one that makes sense for the duo as both are up front in identifying as gay and advocating for the LGBT community.
Both Kiyoko and Kehlani are in the midst of a tour. Kiyoko currently is touring North America while Kehlani just wrapped up a month of dates in Asia with additional North American dates coming up in June.
