It’s par for the course for Commes des Garcon to turn heads with its runway presentations, but the Japanese label took things to a different level when it showed Nike booties on its spring 2018 runway.
Made in Japan, the lace-up boot features a mesh upper and two-inch heel with the Nike Swoosh prominently detailed on the lateral and medial side of the shoe. CDG adds some artful flourish with deconstructed details including inside out stitching and extension of the shoe’s mesh over the heel. The shoe makes a final statement with a red sole.
The shoe is priced at $1,350, pricing that sounds borderline crazy for anyone who recalls the $60 bootleg versions of these booties that had their heyday in the early ’00s.
While only the black version of the shoe is currently available for pre-order at nordstrom.com, look for additional colors in the coming weeks to be added to Dover Street Market and other CDG wholesale partners.
