Teyana Taylor follows up on the release of Keep that Same Energy on June 23, 2018 with news the album is in the midst of being updated and will be re-released.
In an interview with radio host Big Boy, the G.O.O.D. Music signee said an updated version of the album, would arrive over the weekend. “Saturday, Sunday [June 30/July 1, 2018] you’ll hear the complete version of the album,” she explained adding, “At the end of ‘Issues,’ I had the Sade piece in there. The end of ‘Rose in Harlem,’ I had [Lauryn Hill’s] ‘Lost Ones’ in there and I was really talking that shit.”
When asked why the album was released before it was ready, Taylor said, “I blame a little bit of everyone because of that fact we set a date and then we had a listening party and we had clearance issues.”
Taylor noted that the clearance issues meant several songs were released incomplete, an issue that will be corrected when the album is re-released.
