Farmland Foods took a swat at Supreme on Twitter where the meat production company pointed out its logo looked suspiciously close to one use on a Supreme baseball cap.
The cap features the word Supreme against a rectangular, block logo that indeed looks like a total copy of Farmland’s green and blue logo, which is marked by a fluffy white cloud. As well, Supreme is written using the same Farmland font.
Supreme is known for taking design inspiration from sometimes surprising sources and Supreme brand director Angelo Baque once pointed out in a GQ interview a reference sometimes “goes right over our customers’ heads,” adding, “four years later it will catch on.”
While copying is frowned upon particularly when a large company takes an idea from a small company, Farmland is owned by Smithfield Foods, the world’s largest pork producer.
If by chance your interested in an original Farmland Foods cap, the company on Twitter said to stay tuned because it has its own merch drop coming.
Hey #Supreme, that logo looks super familiar. We missed the drop – what do you think about sending a few our way? #FARMLANDxSUPREME pic.twitter.com/zq0uIL6exA
