Kith has announced plans for a Tommy Hilfiger collaborative collection, an extensive range that will include outerwear, apparel, denim, underwear and sneakers, as well as Timberland boots.
Launched under Kith Set Athletics, the branding for the collection takes inspiration from the Tommy Hilfiger crest and also makes use of Tommy’s over-sized collegiate “t,” transforming it into a giant “k.”
The partnership was foreshadowed with Kith’s recent Coca-Cola collection, which included a polo shirt Kith founder Ronnie Fieg highlighted as originally designed by Hilfiger in the mid-80s. Fieg sent a gift package to Hilfiger and thanked him for his role as a mentor.
Reflecting on the Tommy Hilfiger effort, Fieg published a page from social media in his journal, which read, “This is for the 15-year old me. This is for my friends and I wearing Tommy in 1996 thinking we had no worries in life. This is for Queens. This is for anyone who has a dream that seems impossible to reach.”
