The theme of Off-White‘s spring 2019 runway show for women makes a clear statement on performance. Titled “Track & Field,” the event will feature female Nike athletes currently in competition as well as prior Olympic medalist.
Participants include U.K.sprinter Dina Asher Smith, U.S. high jumper Vashti Cunningham, Hong Kong high jumper Cecilia Yueng, U.S. Sprinter English Gardner, U.K. heptathlon competitor Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Belgium heptathlon competitor Nafi Thiam, Colombia high and long jumper Caterine Tibarguen and French middle-distance runner Rénelle Lamote.
In advance of the runway presentation today (September 27, 2018), the label has already previewed a shoe that takes design inspiration from Nike’s React Vapor Street Flyknit shoe. The shoe features a double lacing system than the Vapor Street and is also equipped with track and field spikes. It should be noted that Off-White designer Virgil Abloh has labeled the shoe as a prototype.
If you’re interesting in watching the event, it will livestream today at 1:00 PM EST on off–white.com.
