Rihanna has landed the cover for Garage magazine’s issue No. 15 featuring a spread shot by Deana Lawson and styled by Carlos Nazario. Additional credits include hair by Yusef Williams and makeup by Lisa Eldridge and nails by Jenny Longworth.
The editorial was styled by Carlos Nazario who tapped into a vintage theme for the shoot. Items were sourced in London’s Rellik and One of a Kind vintage stores.
Referencing his visit to One of a Kind, Nazario discussed the store’s Jamaican owner, Jeff Ihenacho. “[He’s] this incredible Jamaican guy who’s been collecting vintage since it was not vintage, since the ’70s and ’60s,” Nazario explained. “His taste tends to veer towards the more theatrical, and his collection’s vibe is very Caribbean queen, which was one of the inspirations for this shoot.”
In addition to vintage pieces, Rihanna wore current items via designers including Y/Project, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino, among others.
As eagle-eye fans have noted, the room she was shot in is decorated throughout with multiple framed photographs of a younger version of the Bajan Boss.
