Beyoncé once again delivered a great costume for Halloween with a tribute to vocal great Toni Braxton. Deigning herself Phoni Braxton, she wrote in the caption: “Sending love and adoration to one of our talented legends. Thank you for the countless bops. Your tone, your beauty, your range, and your God-given talent is treasured. Loving you always. Have a Happy Halloween my Kings and Queens.”
The Houston-born performer took inspiration from the art used on Braxton’s self-titled debut album, which dropped in 1993 and included her smash hit and the first single from the album, “Another Sad Love Song.” At the time the song dropped, Beyoncé was 12-years old and was performing as a member of all-girl group Girl’s Tyme.
For the past few years, Beyoncé has partnered with her husband, Jay-Z, and her oldest daughter, Blue Ivy on costumes. In 2017, Beyonce and Jay-Z paid homage to Lil Kim and Biggie Smalls and in 2016, they channeled Salt-n-Peppa.
