Solange Knowles has let it be known she plans to drop a new album this fall. In a NY Times profile, timing for the album was described as “imminent,” though the singer declined to provide additional details on the number of songs or featured artists.
The article did provide some clues on the sound: “The making of it has taken Solange to New Orleans (where she often lives), Jamaica, California’s Topanga Canyon and back to a kind of Houston of the mind. ‘There is a lot of jazz at the core,’ she emailed me a few days after our meeting. ‘But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.'”
The interview was conducted at a Los Angeles studio where Knowles was described as putting the final touches on what will be her fourth studio album.
Knowles released her fourth studio album, the well-received A Seat at the Table, in September 2016.
