In April 2018, images of a Vans and NASA Old-Skool sneaker emerged but at the time it wasn’t clear whether the shoe was legit or the product of someone’s imagination.
Well, if you were a fan of the concept, it’s indeed a real thing. The Vans and NASA effort will include the Sk8-Hi and Old Skool shown here, which feature a white leather upper. The lateral side of the shoe is detailed with NASA branding while each of the shoe’s tongues have pull tabs detailed with the words “shuttle” and “mission.” There’s also a removable U.S. flat patch on the heel tab.
The Vans x NASA shoes are listed on U.K. Foot Locker‘s site as dropping on November 2nd. While the Old Skool shoe shown here is white leather, the Foot Locker site lists that the Sk8-Hi will be sold in three colorways (black, red and white). The site also lists a kid’s-sized Classic in checkerboard/black.
As well, there are images of an orange Old Skool circulating plus catalog images (below) of a Vans x NASA backpack and duffle bag.
Alas, as of now there’s no indication of a U.S. launch, but given the array of product circulating it seems very likely there will be a stateside vans.com launch, too.
