Ariana Grande today (November 30, 2018) dropped a came-filled video for “thank u, next” that is sure to help sustain the momentum for the smash hit single, which has been sitting atop the charts ever since it dropped on November 3, 2018.
In addition to referencing Grande’s own love history with Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson (to whom she apologizes for “dipping”), the video also references her own coming of age story, a history that includes characters from “Victorious,” a Nickelodeon series in which she played the part of Cat Valentine before her singing career took off.
The visual also makes references to early ought teen movies Mean Girls, Bring It On, Legally Blonde and 13 Going on 30.
Cameos include Kris Jenner (playing herself as the insanely-supportive mom), Australian singer/songwriter Troye Sivan, Mean Girls alumni Johnathan Bennett and Stefanie Drummond, Legally Blonde actress Jennifer Coolidge, “Victorious” actors Elizabeth Gillies and Matt Bennett, YouTube personality Colleen Ballinger (who really is pregnant) and Gabi DeMartino, another YouTube personality known for impersonating Grande.
