Dior today (November 28, 2018) launched its much-buzzed-about capsule with Brooklyn artist KAWS né Brian Donnelly. The capsule was introduced as part of the label’s spring 2019 runway presentation and represents designer Kim Jones’ first collection to hit retail. The effort was celebrated last night (November 27, 2018) in Tokyo at Isetan Shinjuku where customers could customize t-shirts with a spray gun.
The playful collection includes a coach’s jacket, long-sleeve t-shirt and t-shirt, all of which are detailed with a KAWS-designed font while the bags and accessories are detailed with the logo and a bumble bee featuring KAWS’ signature x-ed-out eyes. There’s also a bee pin. The long sleeve and the t-shirt are offered in black, pink or white while the rest of the items are solid black.
Prices range from $590 for the t-shirt up to $2,350 for the coach’s jacket. Accessories range in price from $250 for socks and $350 for a card holder up to $1,500 for a nylon backpack. Items are available at Dior stores and dior.com.
The clothing items launched on November 28th while the bags and accessories are described as “coming soon.”
