Italian label Marni queues up a colorfully cool collection for resort 2019 reflecting designer Francesco Risso’s skill for creating a statement through dynamic color and pattern combinations.
Risso replaced Marni’s widely-admired founder/designer, Consuelo Castiglioni, in October 2016. He showed his first collection in February 2017 in Milan. Risso has dealt with no small amount of push back from Castiglioni fans who felt as though his designs were overly reflective of his time as a designer for Prada.
Two years later and it feels as though Risso has hit his stride and has become to put his own distinct mark (including eliminating the use of real fur) on the brand, adding an au courrant flair the label was in need of in the process.
