Casablanca as led by the Paris-born Charef Tajer is viewed as a label to watch in advance of its debut runway collection to be shown on January 17, 2019, during Paris Fashion Week Men’s. Launched in June 2018, the French menswear label with unisex appeal is creating buzz in large part because of Tajer’s reputation as a bon vivant and creative director best known for his involvement with starting up Pigalle and decadent Paris nightclub Le Pompon.
Taref has described the label as one inspired in part by his love of hotel life. In an interview with Complex, he explained, “It’s a menswear brand that represents the cross between comfort and elegance. Most of the time I live in hotels because I travel a lot. But even when I’m in Paris I love to be in hotels. And that’s just something that I love, particularly the hotel bathrobes and lobbies. Lobbies are a place where people are relaxed but everybody is kind of well-dressed and all that. It’s something that I really love, and the brand represents that.”
Current Casablanca offerings are now available at ssense.com, Alchemist in Miami, and Brown’s in London.
