Remy Ma and Papoose, aka the Mackies honored the birth of their first child in December 2018 with the release today (January 16, 2019) of a single and video titled “The Golden Child” featuring Roc Nation signee Angelica Villa.
As of yet, the married couple hasn’t revealed their daughter’s name, rather she’s referenced as the golden child because she was very much wanted and yet Remy first endured a miscarriage and then had to undergo IVF to conceive.
Song lyrics recall Papoose and Remy’s trials and tribulations, including Remy’s six years stint in prison. The visual shows footage from the couple’s vow renewal ceremony and their ’50s-era, sock-hop-themed baby shower, an event attended by Lil Kim and Fat Joe as well as multiple members of the “Love & Hip Hop NY” crew, including Joe Budden, Cyn Santana and Safaree. One person you will not see in the video…the golden child.
