When Riccardo Tisci joined Burberry as a head creative last year, he took with him the fawn motif that figured prominently on his designs while at Givenchy. While Givenchy offerings used a Bambi-inspired fawn, Burberry’s spring 2019 “Kingdom” collection takes inspiration from a porcelain fawn statue that’s been featured on the brand’s social media feeds.
One of the first items to hit retail is a four-inch by three-inch card-sized bag capable of carrying a few cards and perhaps a single key. Priced at $490, the card holder features a photo reproduction of the porcelain fawn and a long chain so it can be worn as a crossbody bag.
If you’re looking for something a bit larger, there are additional fawn-themed items coming, including a black crossbody bag featuring the label’s new Peter Saville-designed logo. In addition to accessories, the spring 2019 line will also include fawn-themed clothing.
Have an early look at one of Burberry’s upcoming crossbody bags below, as previewed on @mrboliu’s Instagram feed. The full “Kingdom” collection will launch on burberry.com on February 27, 2019.
