Every season there’s a handful of Chanel items, whether bags, shoes or clothing, that stand out from the pack and garner “it” status. For Chanel’s spring 2019 ready-to-wear collection, the must-have piece is without doubt the white, cropped blouse emblazoned with “CHA” on right pocket and “NEL” on the right pocket.
Cardi B was able to scoop up the blouse, as did Ciara, who wore it in an Instagram dance-off video in which she celebrated her birthday.
Reflecting designer Karl Lagerfeld’s cognizance of the blouse’s buzz factor, it was worn on the runway by model of the moment Kaia Gerber as she strode barefoot along the sand covered floor of Paris’ The Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées in a beach-themed show titled “By the Sea.” The blouse was coordinated with an equally covetable pair of “CHA” and “NEL” crystal-drop earrings.
The blouse, along with the entire spring and fall collections, gain added status simply because they were among the final designs overseen by Lagerfeld before he passed away on February 19, 2019.
