Cardi B is making her big debut on the big screen with a role in Hustlers, a film that also stars Jennifer Lopez, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Julia Stiles, and Mercedes Ruehl.
Themed on a group of ex-strippers who have joined forces to scam their former clients, the movie is a high-stakes thriller adapted from a 2016 New York magazine story reporting on a group of dancers who drugged and robbed their wealthy clients.
The film will be directed by Lorene Scafaria, who commented, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women. We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast and can’t wait to start filming at the end of the week.”
While Cardi has put in some acting with a role on “Being Mary Jane,” this will be her first time on the big screen. Given her own proudly-proclaimed past as a stripper whose hustle game was as good as any, the role is tailor made for the Grammy-winning 26-year-old.
There’s no release date for the project as of yet, but filming is scheduled to begin on March 22, 2019.
