LVMH Prize Announces 20 Short List Finalists For Class Of 2019

LVMH Prize has announced its sixth class of semi-finalists, which includes a total of 20 designers, all of whom gathered in in Paris on March 1st and 2nd, 2019 at LVMH headquarters.

Labels selected for the short list are 3.Paradis, Anrealage, Bethany Williams, Bode, Boramy Viguier, Duran Lantink, Eftychia, Germanier, Hed Mayner, Hu, Kanghyuk, Kenneth Ize, Kiko Kostadinov, Lecavalier, Paria Farzaneh, Phipps, Richard Malone, Stefan Cooke, Susan Fang and Thebe Magugu.

The LVMH Prize will be awarded in June by a jury that includes Tim Blanks, Naomi Campbell, Edward Enninful, Michel Gaubert, Jefferson Hack, Adrian Joffe, Karlie Kloss, Pat McGrath, Hidetoshi Nakata, Carine Roitfeld, and Natalia Vodianova among others.

The 2018 LVMH Prize was awared to Doublet (2018), Marine Serre in 2017, Grace Wales Bonner in 2016 Marques Almeida in 2015, and Thomas Tait in 2014.

Adelaide House Collection #AW19 #LFWM Louis wears recycled tent jacket and recycled denim all in one, organic tee shirt all screen printed in Peckham. Working in collaboration with Adelaide House, a women’s shelter based in Liverpool, one of only six such facilities in the country. Adelaide House provides a safe place for women leaving prison with various needs including domestic violence and homelessness. I have also worked alongside @giorgiachiarion , who has illustrated the women of Adelaide House and created abstract paintings inspired by Liverpool’s landscape. Liverpool was the first city in the UK to have social housing. The city forms inspiration for the collection, as well as the number of female, socially engaged politicians that have helped support their community. In an interesting twist on the ongoing discourse around gender, when a man buys a piece from this collection, the proceeds go to supporting some of society’s most vulnerable women. To support Adelaide House, I will be donating 20% of the profits from this collection. I would like to thank the Mayor of London in his support of the presentation.
