Nike officially has unveiled its second collaboration shoe and clothing collection with Fear of God, an Los Angeles-based label led by Jerry Lorenzo. The collection is highlighted by the debut of the Nike Air Fear of God Raid, a sneaker offered in either black or white plus a friends & family colorway. The capsule also includes the Nike Air Fear of God Moccasin and Nike Air Fear of God 1 offered in a sorbet orange or green colorway.
Titled “SPSU19,” the capsule also includes a parka, hoodie, reversible basketball jersey, long-sleeve henley, long-sleeve t-shirt, tear-away joggers, nylon joggers, shorts, all themed on a black, grey and white color scheme.
Commenting on inspiration for the Fear of God Raid silhouette, designer Jerry Lorenzo said it was inspired by the Nike Air Raid basketball shoe, an outdoor court basketball shoe he fell in love with while a sophomore in high school. Lorenzo explained, “When the kid walked in the classroom with the Air Raid, no one told me that I was supposed to like the Air Raid. I was just drawn to it, the design, the colors. It was like, oh my God, what is that? It became interconnected with all these other real emotional things that were happening at the time of the shoe.”
Nike and Fear of God’s spring 2019 collection launches April 27, 2019 on nike.com.
