While at Coachella doing some DJing yesterday (April 14 2019), Virgil Abloh took a moment to reveal an altogether new Nike and Off-White silhouette. Featuring a black leather and suede upper, the shoe’s unusual lacing system and pink spike-like detailing along the sole appear to take some inspiration from the Nike React Vapor Flyknit-inspired shoe he showed on his Off-White spring 2019 “Track and Field” collection for women.
However, the original Flyknit material story presented on the runway has been swapped out for a black leather and Forrest green suede one. As with prior collaborative models, the shoe includes a plastic hang tag.
In speaking on his collaborative efforts with Nike, Abloh has stated he wants to continue pushing boundaries, and a brand new silhouette would certainly fit that criteria.
Off-White and Nike’s collaboration clothing and shoe collection is rumored to be dropping in summer 2019. Thus far, there have only been details on the apparel with no info on what shoe silhouettes will be included.
