Forget about a chain, Drake today (May 10, 2019) provided the ultimate flex when he provided Instagram followers with a look at a Boeing 767 customized with his name. Estimated to cost between $75-$100 million, the jet was shown in a video in which Drake stated, “No rental, no time share, no co-owners.” The comment was no doubt a reference to his peers who fly privately but don’t own their planes because the cost of maintaining it and paying a full time staff make it prohibitive.
Customized with the name Air Drake, the plane’s tail is detailed with the Toronto-born rapper’s praying hands motif. Video of the interior reveals plush couches, leather lounge chairs and tables. Additionally, the jet is said to include two bedrooms.
The jet was revealed along with a press release announcing Drake as an official partner of Canada-based Cargojet, which supplied the plane. Commenting on the partnership, Drake said, “Supporting home grown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when an opportunity came up to get involved with a great Canadian company I was honored to do so.”
Cargojet CEO Ajay Virmani added, “We are very excited to partner with Drake as our ambassador and assisting him with his logistical needs and requirements. We have had a lengthy relationship with Drake and this partnership has grown organically between both parties. Cargojet and Drake are both great Canadian successes, we are thrilled to be partnering together.”
