Boyle Heights, California native Malaynah (real name Malaynah Elise Cordova) has dropped a visual for “Outta My Face,” a spirited anthem dismissing naysayers and warning the haters to literally get out of her face.
Reflecting on the track, the Empire Records signee Malaynah explains, “The damaged plane signifies my crash landing, as I’m from another planet. I crash landed in the desert, alone, and I’m fine with that, being by myself.”
She adds, “With the lyrics, ‘You can’t knock me down, I’ll bounce right back,’ I wanted this quote to showcase the hustler within me, the go-and-get-it by any means mentality. Something that differentiates me from the rest is that no matter how many times I fall, I’ll get back up stronger than the last time.”
The video is a solid cap on what’s been a very good year for the up-and-coming singler. Earlier this year, she received an Instagram co-sign from Cardi B, for her “Money” freestyle, while her “Karma” single has posted over a million views on Youtube.
