Following news of Adidas collaborating with Prada, a rumor has surfaced around a similar partnership, this time pairing Beaverton-based Nike with French luxury label Dior. Whether or not this is a men’s or women’s collaboration hasn’t been made clear.
According to Twitter account @ovrnundr, Nike and Dior will collaborate on an Air Jordan 1 model whose production will be limited to 1,000 silhouettes. Priced at $2,000, the shoes allegedly are scheduled for a June 2020 launch.
Rumors of Nike and Dior Homme collaborating also popped up in 2017 as surfaced by then Dior Homme designer Kris Van Assche. However, the predicted partnership never materialized. That said, the current chatter seems a bit more credible if only because Kim Jones, the current designer for Dior Homme, has collaborated with Nike as an individual on three different occasions, first in 2016 and twice in 2018.
We will update with confirmation of the partnership. In the meantime, check out the tweet starting the rumor below.
