Rapper Meek Mill (real name Robert Rihmeek Williams) faced off with his ex beau Nicki Minaj (real name Onika Tanya Maraj) and her husband, Kenneth Petty on Friday afternoon (January 24, 2020) when the two unexpectedly ran into each other at Maxfield’s, a luxury boutique located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, Mill ultimately was escorted out of the store by his own team and store security. In the video, Petty can be heard saying, “She aint talking to you no more!” while Minaj is heard calling Mill a bitch on two different occasions.
TMZ’s version of events is at odds with The Shade Room’s eye witness who said Mill approached Petty in the store with the intention of squashing their beef with each other. Instead, words were exchanged and Petty suggested they take it outside and settle their issues one on one. According to the witness, the confrontation moved outside but their argument never came to physical blows and eventually was diffused.
However, in the video Minaj is heard mentioning there are “50 people outside, we’re good,” implying she was against the idea of moving the fight outside.
Foreshadowing the event, NJ rapper RetcH captured selfies with both Mill and Minaj before they ran into each other. Minaj, as she is prone to do during her off time, has kept a very low profile as of late and prior to the RetcH image hasn’t posted on social media since November of last year. Her last public outing was in mid-December for a Billboard event where she received a game-changer award.
Mill is in Los Angeles in advance of his appearance on Sunday at the 62nd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles where he will take part in a Nipsey Hussle tribute.
