Los Angeles-based designer Melody Ehsani has revealed plans for a second collaboration with Air Jordan. As of now, we don’t have a lot, other than a box. Ehsani announced the news on Instgram where she unveiled a pink box contrasted by an orange Jumpman and ME logo.
In the visual, Ehsani sports red, pink, blue and yellow nail art, perhaps a hint at the color scheme. Another clue comes with the caption that reads, “DO YOU KNOW, DO YOU KNOW, DO YOU KNOW,” likely a reference to a signature phrase used by Spike Lee playing the role of Mars Blackmon in Jordan’s campaign spots for the Retro 3, 5 and 6. For what it’s worth, Sneaker News is predicting the model will be a Retro 4.
Probably not coincidentally, Ehsani recently released a green t-shirt referencing Jordan and Lee’s 1990 “Flight School” spot, highlighting the Retro 6. As such, it’s pretty likely the shoe will touch on one of the three aforementioned models highlighted in a Jordan x Lee campaign.
Ehsani’s first collaborated with Jordan on a Retro 1 sneaker, which launched in November 2020. The colorful shoe was adorned with wristwatch lace lock and was offered exclusively in women’s sizes. Wildly popular, the shoe sold out in seconds and still commands a high resale price. The shoe also landed at the top of our annual Snobette Sneaker Awards list.
The shoe itself has yet to be revealed so no surprise there’s no info as of yet on sizing or pricing. However, based on Ehsani’s caption, it looks like the shoe will drop in March 2020.
