Nike has provided a first look at a Blazer Mid (style code: DA5383-100) sneaker made in collaboration with Japanese label Comme des Garçons and tennis great Noami Osaka.
Offered in an attractive white/pure platinum/sail/black color story, the white upper is detailed with a pure platinum repeat print of Osaka’s name along with a leather Swoosh and heal guard subtly contrasted by a suede toe. The shoe includes Osaka’s signature and the tagline, “Home is where the heart is.”
Nike announced it had signed Osaka in May 2019. Previously signed to Adidas, she was fitted in Nike gear for the first time at Germany’s Stuttgard Grand Prix not long after she was signed. At the time, Osaka, whose mother is Japanese and father is Haitian, stated, “I’m proud to become a member of the Nike family and excited about getting involved in all of the opportunities Nike has to offer.”
The 22-year-old Osaka is currently ranked No. 10 by the World Tennis Association.
There is no launch date for the shoe other than “coming soon.”
