What appears to be a preview of Adidas and Prada‘s next collaborative showed has made its appearance. The white shoe takes inspiration from Prada’s iconic America’s Cup sneaker, a sleek mesh and leather sneaker originally designed for the Luna Rossa sailing team to wear for the 2000 America’s Cup, a sailing competition.
In a change up from the usual America’s Cup silhouette, the collaborative shoe features a mesh and leather upper that’s overlaid with a translucent textile that levels up the shoe’s sleek DNA and adds a modern update.
Making references to both brands, Adidas’s three stripes sit underneath the overlay while a red tab that extends from the heel of the shoe’s upper through to the sole makes references to signature America’s Cup detailing.
The two brands first came together in December of 2019 on a white Superstar shoe and bowling bag. While not highly regarded from a design perspective, both items sold out upon arrival. Currently, the Prada-stamped Superstar commands a starting asking price of $1,880 on StockX.
As of now there’s no info on pricing or timing for Adidas and Prada’s second collaborative effort.
