Music and fashion mogul Kanye West has remained very active on Twitter as of late, swapping out his thoughts on political topics for Yeezy related content. Last night he uploaded images of what he describes as a signature Derrick Rose shoe.
Constructed of a white EVA material similar to Yeezy’s Foam RNNR, the shoe is entirely covered with a series of pleats that extend around the top and bottom of the shoe.
Derrick Rose’s wife of two years, Alaina Anderson, provided the best look at the shoe in a video shot by Rose. Wearing a size 12 version of the shoes (sized for Rose we presume), Anderson did a circle around the couple’s backyard.
While the shoes were clearly too big for the petite Anderson, even if properly sized, the fit of the upper is over-sized and recalls the look and feel of Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s shoes.

In June 2020, Rose was spotted working out in a pair of Yeezy Quantum basketball shoes in a Barium colorway. The Quantum shoe made its debut in February 2020 and marked Yeezy’s first official performance shoe.
Now a member of the Detroit Pistons, NBA player Rose signed with Yeezy parent company Adidas in 2012 for a 13-year $185 million shoe deal.
The partnership was viewed as a bust for Adidas because Rose’s promising career was undercut by a series of injuries. According to Sports Illustrated, “Weeks after the [Adidas] deal was signed, in the first round of the playoffs, Rose tore the ACL in his left leg, causing him to miss the entire 2012–13 season. He missed all but 10 games the following year because of a meniscus injury.”
