California-based footwear brand Vans has teamed up with the Museum Of Modern Art (MoMA) on a capsule collection featuring the work of artists who are part of the New York-based museum’s permanent collection.
Offered in two separate drops, the first collection will feature the work of Salvador Dalí, Vasily Kandinsky and Claude Monet.
The footwear silhouettes are comprised of Vans’ ComfyCush, Old Skool and Era silhouettes. Additionally, there will be Vans and MoMA branded apparel and accessories such as a hoodie, long and short sleeve t-shirts for adults and kids, as well as a cap and lightweight cinch backpack.
In a press release, Robin Sayetta, associate director of licensing and partnerships at MoMA, stated, “MoMA is excited to finally reveal the Vans collaboration as they, too, have a rich legacy of supporting artistic expression. We pursue a limited number of product collaborations and our goal is always to engage a broader audience with modern art. We are thrilled to reach art lovers around the world through Vans’ global network.”
The first release of footwear, apparel and accessories will launch worldwide Sept. 30, followed by another installment in November.
Vans and MoMa’s collections will be available on September 30, 2020 at Vans stores, vans.com, plus MoMA design store locations and store.moma.org, along with select retail locations.
