Officially timing has bee announced for Off-White‘s take on the Jordan 5 Retro SP silhouette (style code: DH8565-100). The handsome sail colorway is a follow up to a black version of the shoe dropped during NBA All-Star Weekend 2020.
The choice of the Jordan 5 model is personal for Off-White designer Virgil Abloh, who has stated it was the first Jordan silhouette he purchased as a young man. His version of the shoe features a sail-colored mesh upper with a translucent net panels detailed with a clear circular portal, a reference to the meteor holes that have been dotting (literally) Off-White’s designs throughout the year.. The shoe’s is detailed with 3M reflective detailing whiled the outsole makes used of an aged translucent textile.
Reflecting Abloh’s signature design touches, a plastic zip tie is looped through the right shoe’s laces, which are detailed with the descriptive “SHOELACE.”
The shoe is accompanied by a capsule of apparel comprised of a hoodie, t-shirt and track pants. all of which are color coordinated with the shoe.
The Air Jordan 5 and Off-White sneaker will launch on October, 29, 2020 on SNKRS along with a select group of retailers globally. While Jordan hasn’t provided pricing, the black version of the shoe was priced at $225. The apparel launch will follow in mid-December.
