Bravo TV today (October 8, 2020) officially announced attorney Eboni K. Williams as Real Housewives of New York‘s newest apple holder. Twelve years since the debut season, she’s makes history as the first Black cast member for the franchise.
Series producers appear to have listened (finally!) to complaints about a lack of people of color on the New York franchise, a criticism that hits home because the City is known and admired for its diversity. At the same time, RHONY continues to shake things up by bringing in younger and hipper cast members like Williams, who is a 37-year-old attorney.
With filming for season 13 in progress since late September, Williams has already been spotted with season 12 break out star Leah McSweeney. It’s already been announced that cast member Dorinda Medley was not invited back for season 13.
