Collina Strada has revealed its first-ever collaboration with Reebok, a Classic Leather sneaker. Offered in either white or black, the upper is splashed with a thick wavy line that crosses the toe and heel and features a jeweled-covered accessory attached to the laces. Reflecting the label’s emphasis on sustainability, the upper is constructed of 30 percent recycled material.
Offered in white and bright blue, white and fluorescent green and black and lilac, the sneaker capsule is titled “Call Mom,” an ode to Collina Strada designer Hillary Taymour’s forgetful ways. Designed during a period when she resorted to using Post It notes to remind herself to call her mother, Taymour noted, “I put notes with ‘call mom’ all over the apartment and the phrase just stuck.”
The shoes made their debut as part of Collina Strada’s fall 2021 collection, a striking digital presentation in which models wearing the label’s designs morphed into various and sundry animals.
Based in New York and founded in fall 2008, Collina Strada is described as ready-to-wear as well as a platform for climate awareness, social awareness, change and self expression, noting, “sustainability is a journey.”
Priced at $90, Reebok and Collina Strada’s Classic Leather sneaker will launch on March 31, 2021 on on collinastrada.com and on April 2nd on reebok.com.
