Los Angeles-based designer Salehe Bembury took to Instagram where he previewed an upcoming collaboration with New Balance, his second with the U.S. athletic shoe and apparel company.
Bembury is providing his take on a Test Run Project 3.0 silhouette, a New Balance shoe that debuted in 2019. The flashy shoe features a leopard-print underlay and gray suede upper detailed with two different web straps one of which crisscrosses atop the shoe. Adding a chef’s kiss to the colorful, shoe the designer’s name is detailed in fluorescent green along the length of an orange tongue tab. Meanwhile, the outsole features a white an gold pattern and a gum-colored Vibram outsole.
The collaboration is Bembury’s second with New Balance. Last year he worked on a suede and mesh New Balance 2002 shoe dubbed “Peace Be The Journey.”
Bembury ended 2020 with the news he was ending his time as vice president of design at Versace, a label he joined in 2017. At the time of his departure, Bembury let it be known he planned to launch his own brand sometime in 2021.
As of now, New Balance and Salehe Bembury’s Test Run Project 3.0 doesn’t have an official release date, but we will update when that info comes available.
