Los Angeles-born Aleali May has debuted her first Jordan apparel collection, which will launch alongside a jewel green and blue Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort sneaker (styled code: DJ1199-400), her fourth collaborative shoe with the brand. Notably, May’s latest sneaker with Jordan is co-branded with her signature on the heel, marking a first.
Apparel offerings include a varsity jacket, a two-tone cropped mesh practice top, Michael Jordan t-shirt and tear-away track pants.
The collection is titled “Califia, the name of a fictional pagan warrior queen who ruled over a kingdom of Black women living on the Island of California, located off the coast of Asia.
Inspired by her Los Angeles upbringing, May celebrated the drop by highlighting her former Inglewood, Los Angeles-born coach Shanora Holloway (above), who has coached drill and cheerleading teams at multiple school and programs in Los Angeles.
