Congrats go out to Insecure co-creator Issa Rae and Louis Diame, who married at a ceremony held in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France on Sunday (July 25th).
Rae wore custom Vera Wang Haute Couture, described by press as a “custom light ivory strapless sweetheart neckline ballgown, complete with hand-placed Chantilly lace accented by hand-sewn crystal beading and a light ivory chapel-length veil also outfitted with hand-placed Chantilly lace.”
For the reception, Rae wore a custom lily white Italian silk crepe plunging v-neck a-line gown and a layered tulle skirt with a front slit.
In the caption of her Instagram post, Rae as always had jokes, with a caption reading, “Impromptu photo shoot in a custom @verawang dress. B) My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had on the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed. C) Then I took a few flicks with Somebody’s Husband.”
Diame has been described as a businessman. While many were stunned to hear of the marriage, rumors of the couple’s engagement first surfaced in March 2019 when Rae was photographed with a major rock on her ring finger for an Essence cover story.
The couple has been dating since at least 2012, a period in which she was producing her “The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl” YouTube series. In a 2012 profile of Rae by the Washington Post, Diame was described as a 28-year-old student. While not a actor by trade, he made a cameo appearance in the series’ seventh episode.
Over the years, Rae and Diame also appeared on a handful of red carpets together, but mainly they’ve managed to keep their relationship low key.
