Harlem-born designer Dapper Dan (real name Daniel Day) has created a capsule of apparel for the NFL and Pepsi, the official soda sponsor of the league. Created to mark the kick off the NFL season, the launch also coincides with New York Fashion Week. Titled the “Football Watching Collection,” navy blue and gold offerings are detailed with a repeat “DD” logo and include a hoodie, bucket hat and what’s described as a “handmade luxe lounger.” There is also a Pepsi can featuring the same repeat print employed on the apparel.
Commenting on the effort, Dapper Dan stated, “I’ve been bringing luxury fashion to Harlem for 35 years and let me tell you, you don’t always see a true authentic collaboration come to life the way it did here with Pepsi, and right in time for the football season and New York Fashion Week at that. This capsule collection is equally inspired by the Pepsi brand, football fans, and my one-of-a-kind looks.”
The first three of 400 people to claim the capsule will receive the full collection including the handmade luxe lounger. The remaining 397 will receive the hoodie, bucket hat and limited edition Pepsi and Dapper Dan can. You can claim the collection on madeforfootballwatching.com while supplies last starting September 8, 2021.
